Stuff began to make sense, and I understood what I was doing.
Currently they've released the first three volumes, which cover the game through the Cataclysm expansion. Additional volumes will be released until they're caught up. Very helpful for those explorers wanting the full experience. Covers the entire history of Wow before the 1st video game. After reading, a lot of missing pieces of info tied together all the loose ends between expansions. So interesting to read, I learned elves were descendants from trolls who knew. I started playing WoW at a very young age which led to me not really paying attention to the story. As I grew older and as the game progressed, I found myself lost in the world I didn't understand. However, if you're just trying to understand the recent plots, this isn't the book for you because it only tells about the events before the Dark Portal and the history behind Azeroth. It was overall an enjoyable read, even though it took me a long while to finish it. The art incorporated was more tha I started playing WoW at a very young age which led to me not really paying attention to the story.
The art incorporated was more than mesmerizing and I wish there was more of it. View all 3 comments. I am so nerdy oh my goodness For the Horde! Lok'Tar Ogar! Meet me in Dalaran!
I promise I'm not nerdy!!! I totally am. But a small warning: it's not for the casual WoW player, or for someone who is looking for a traditional "story. It is more a solid history book than anything, but if that's what you want it was what I wanted I am so nerdy oh my goodness For the Horde! It is more a solid history book than anything, but if that's what you want it was what I wanted then it is amazingly well done. For me, who read this book as an almost everyday WoW player and someone who truly wanted to delve deep into the lore of the world, this was perfect.
The illustrations were absolutely breathtaking! Not so much: I wish there had been more illustrations, even just little ones! The photos were so gorgeous I wanted more of them. View 1 comment. Mar 18, Jeremy rated it really liked it.

It's an impressive tome covering the mythology, prehistory, and history of the Warcraft universe with a solid focus on its most important setting, the world of Azeroth. The backstory of Warcraft has always been a rather tenuous and patchy tapestry made of multiple sources - the various video games Warcraft I through III, followed by World of Warcraft as well as several tie-in novels, anthologies, and graphical series.
While this is done in a reference approach the narrative is clean and colorful, beginning with a background on the universe's fantasy cosmology and ending with the start of modern era of the story. All the high points are detailed clearly, all though not given the same breadth and scope as their companion material would e. Most important, at least to me, is an account of the universe's prehistory including the rise of the Titan Pantheon who serve as the Warcraft universe's creator demigods.
One element I feel needs to be covered, primarily for those with a strong interest in the Warcraft story, is the issue of the retcon. The expansion of scope, addition of detail, and creation of background is not itself a retcon. Sorry for the professorial tone there, but as it is the book's most frequent criticism I felt it should be addressed.
At the end of the day I consider "Chronicle" a great book, and a definite must-read for fans of the Warcraft universe. Nov 19, Trang Tran Bookidote rated it it was amazing. LOL The stories are just so interesting. I've always loved The Blizzard Trailers for their stories and art.

I love playing WoW but as someone who joined the game relatively late Mists of Pandaria I just always felt a bit overwhelmed by the world and I never felt like I could really grasp it or understand its history. To help me with this, my boyfriend was kind enough to gift me this book he might also have done this a bit for himself, as a massive WoW fan.
Reading this book definitely helped me to understand the world a bit better. The first chapter is all about the creation of this universe, which I love playing WoW but as someone who joined the game relatively late Mists of Pandaria I just always felt a bit overwhelmed by the world and I never felt like I could really grasp it or understand its history. The first chapter is all about the creation of this universe, which I can find at times to be a bit dull in other books, which was pretty interesting. After that we get to learn about the many gods and creatures that influence the world of Azeroth and the struggles the experience.
In between these stories are the most amazing drawings which I could honestly look at for hours. I really enjoyed this book though I don't think it will be my favourite in the series once I have read the others. I freaking love the Horde and Sylvanas so I can't wait to be introduced to them and I obviously think and hope that that volume will be my favourite!
I would recommend this book to people who are like me, and would like to get a better grasp of the world of Azeroth. I would also recommend this to the WoW fans who started playing way before me because it is such a gorgeous book with such lovely details that I think you can't even learn when you just play the game. Really a book for all kinds of WoW players and fans! View all 4 comments. Dec 07, Alex rated it really liked it. I think I can speak for many people when I say Azeroth often feels more like home than my actual home in real life.
